Hello, my name is Benjamin Kimmel and I have been teaching in the Minneapolis District since 1998.
My teaching philosophy centers on creating and facilitating a fun, exciting and active learning environment for all students. As an elementary teacher I truly believe that all students have individual interests, needs and gifts for learning that must be explored and strengthened.
My educational background includes graduating from Minneapolis North High school in 1989. After receiving a B.S. degree in Child Psychology from The U of M I completed the C.U.E. graduate program for teaching at St. Thomas University.
While teaching for the students of Minneapolis I have completed certification programs including: Differentiating instruction for Talent Development, Elementary Science Methods, Bakken Science Educator and Advanced Promethean training. To ensure continual growth in my personal education and teaching I am always looking for opportunities to bring new educational experiences to both myself and my students.
Personal interest include:
Music composition and recording, synthesizer and keyboard technology, performing in a variety of Twin Cities bands and spending time with family.
