Julie Sailors, Social Worker, Grades 6-7

Hello! I am the School Social Worker for grades 6-7 at Andersen United Community School. My primary goals are to help remove barriers to student’s academic success and to improve student’s social success. I view the student within the context of the classroom, the family, the community and culture. I provide direct and indirect services to students, families and school staff members. Specifically, I provide these services:

· Crisis intervention

· Homeless and highly mobile

· Special education

· 504 plans

· Identifying mental health needs

· Social skills groups

· Home-school collaboration

· Attendance/truancy

· Identification and coordination of community services

· Help develop school programs and policies

· Advocacy

I adhere to a Code of Ethics set forth by the National Association of Social Workers. I am licensed with the Minnesota Board of Social Work and with the Minnesota Department of Education.

I enjoy working at Andersen School and with middle school students. In my free time I like to cook, go to movies, try new restaurants, be outside, and spend time with my son!  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments. I look forward to hearing from you.
