NABAD (New-to-Country Accelerated Bilingual Academic Development)
NABAD is a newcomer program that is specifically designed for recent immigrant students with limited English language proficiency. NABAD students are provided intensive English language instruction in all curricula areas.
Students and families are also offered support as they acclimate to the U.S. school system.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in French from the University of Minnesota. I also have two teaching licenses from Hamline University: I have an Elementary Ed (1-6) license, and an ESL (K-12) license. I am currently working on my Master's in ESL at Hamline. This is my 3rd year teaching NABAD, previously, I taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade. I have also worked as a math and reading interventionist.
